Apple Pie Bliss Balls

If you enjoy the humble apple pie, you’ll love what I’ve got installed for you! Only these little apple pie sensations are naturally sweetened, guilt-free and loaded with a clean source of energy. Let me introduce to you: the raw apple pie bliss ball.

Gluten free-Refined sugar free-Dairy free-Guilt free

These delicious no bake apple pie bites are bursting with flavour and can be whizzed up in just moments. Buckwheat, although a grain-like seed, is gluten free and is actually not related to wheat to all. Coating the balls in buckwheat adds a yummy crunch.

If you have a dehydrator like me you can naturally dry your own apple slices. If not, look out for sulphur dioxide (E220) free dried apple rings at your local health food store. Sulphur dioxide is a preservative commonly found in dried fruits you want to avoid.

  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1.5 cups dried apple (I dehydrated my own green apples)
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • buckwheat to coat

  1. Place walnuts, dried apple, coconut sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg in a high speed blender. Whiz until mixture is sticky and wet. * If the mixture is too dry add a tiny dash of water to help hold mixture together
  2. Roll mixture into balls
  3. Roll balls in buckwheat and refrigerate
